Gastown is the historic heart of Vancouver. Named after “Gassy” Jack Deighton, a Yorkshire steamboat captain and barkeeper who arrived in 1867 to open the area’s first saloon, Gastown is central to Vancouver’s cosmopolitan profile.  Designated a National Historic Site in 2009, the storied neighbourhood offers a saw tooth skyline that dates back to the 1800s, providing a rich backdrop for the neighbourhood's vanguard group of entrepreneurs.

The Gastown BIA wanted me to create images to reflect the neighbourhood's new visual identity. The images were used on hanging banners lining Gastown's main streets, print advertising, and a new website design by Studio Palms.
